About Kaulunani
Program Goals

The Kaulunani program has six primary goals. They are to:

Increase the participation of the community through the cost-share grant program.

Expand the number of partnerships developed with new organizations.

Increase access to urban forestry information and materials.

Expand outreach to nontraditional groups and minorities.

Promote the use of native plants in all Kaulunani funded projects.

Enhance the skills and technology of industry groups.

Communities, with assistance from Kaulunani, can improve the quality of life within their built environment – and foster respect for Hawai‘i’s natural heritage – through a better understanding of the role trees play in cities and neighborhoods, and by actively participating in urban forestry projects.
